Mme Dorothy K. Toomann

Dorothy Kwennah Toomann is a Liberian Gender Consultant, Peace Activist, and Development Specialist with extensive experience in rights-based work with women, youth, and marginalized communities. A former Executive Director of the Development Education Network-Liberia (DEN-L), she now serves as a Gender Consultant at DEN-L and has worked with initiatives like the Multi-Stakeholder Forest Governance and Accountability Project (MFGAP).


In 2020, she contested as an Independent Candidate in Bong County’s Special Senatorial Elections. Dorothy was a co-organizer of the Liberian Women Mass Action for Peace, advocating for an end to Liberia’s civil war. She holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies from Kimmage Development Studies Centre, Ireland, and has earned numerous certificates in community development, advocacy, peacebuilding, and gender studies.

The MTOB-DSC envisages an environment with useful and excellent training opportunities that are responsive to the needs of our participants and prepare them to overcome personal, institutional, and societal challenges to foster growth at all levels.

 

Mission: MTOB-DSC is committed to providing its participants with quality and useful skills and educational experiences that support the successful completion of degrees, diplomas, and certificates in relevant programs based on participants' needs. The Center fosters academic and career success through a real-life development learning approach and critical thinking and analysis. The Center promotes equity (regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, political, or religious affiliation), meritocracy, honesty, and accountability through measurable learning outcomes.
